A 2 part air drying epoxy finish for use over IP9183-R1 Ipcote. This coating is based on the binder system used to meet the specifications shown below. It is a room temperature cure sealant. The cured coating is resistant to abrasion, corrosion and most aircraft operating fluids and chemical.

IP9064-6362 Strontium Chromate Primer

Chemically cured, high grade, chromate epoxy primer with exceptional adhesion to correctly prepared non-ferrous and ferrous substrates, particularly magnesium. The coating has excellent corrosion inhibition properties and a superior level of protection against all forms of corrosion, including filiform corrosion. Designed to provide excellent resistance to organic solvents and aircraft fluids. Principally used as the primer for our IP9064 2 part epoxy range but can be used on other IP6 polyurethane, IP3 epoxy and IP37 acrylic finishing schemes. Alternative to PR 143 system.

IP9064-THIN 2 PK Epoxy Finishes

“The IP9064 system of coating is a combination of 3 systems, which can be used individually or all 3 for total maximum protection. Each of the 3 individual ‘layers’ are stand alone products in their own right. All 3 are 2 parts, air drying products as follows:

Pre-treatment etch (or wash) Primer A 2 part pre-treatment acid based primer with filiform corrosion resistance for suitability prepared substrates. It chemically pre-treats the surface to provide maximum adhesion and corrosion resistance. Suitable for use with synthetic, 2 pack epoxy, P.U primer and a wide range of finishes. As a replacement alternative to several other products, it has similar properties to Def Stan 80-15, DTD 5555A, BSX 32 etc.

Epoxy Strontium Chromate Primer A 2 part corrosion inhibitive epoxy resin based primer resistant to all normal aircraft operating fluids. Resistant to filiform corrosion if used over Pre-treatment etch (or wash) primer. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor use and over-coatable with various epoxy, acrylic and P.U topcoats. With similar properties to BSX33, DTD 5555A, 5599 and MIL-PRF-23377 Primers.

2 Part Air Drying Epoxy Finishers A 2 part air drying epoxy finish for interior and exterior use. Used by Rolls Royce as both a decorative and protective coating e.g. matt black on fan frame composite castings and an air drying marking paint. Initially available in the range of colours and finishes listed, this range will probably be increased to comply with customer demand. Resistant to abrasion, corrosion and most aircraft operating fluids and chemical. This range is also used for painting instruments and touching up our Textron grey stoving and Pratt and Whitney Canada stoving systems. Similar to MIL 22750.”
