PL37 Coating for Protecting Materials Against Nitriding

A 2-part air dry tin rich lacquer used as a stopping off medium during the nitriding process. Originally developed by Rolls Royce in their own labs and made under licence by Acheson Colloids, (where it was known as ANL – Anti Nitriding Lacquer). This material is now made by Indestructible as one of our specialist product ranges. Competitive to Degussa WSN 100 and Acheson’s Nitrostop N4 which contains xylene. Should not be used near copper parts, as tin melts into it which creates bronze.

PL268 Alumina Core Paint

PL268 is used on designated areas where metal does not flow properly. PL268 is used for pre-forming ceramics for the casting investment industry. To prevent ‘canalling’ defects on DS (Directionally stable metal ‘crystal’) castings using preformed cores made with a pure thin alumina coating applied by brush. A pure aluminium poly-hydroxy nitrate binder (mentioned in Russian literature as early as 1960’s) in which is suspended very finely fused 5 micron alumina and other additives.
