"Rockhard Clear Stoving Enamel has proved its worth over 4 decades as one of the best protective coatings for metals to erosion, corrosion, including salt water and chemical resistance at elevated temperatures particularly on Aluminium and Magnesium and as such is recommended by Magnesium Electron, the leading supplier of Magnesium in the UK. The R1 version of 576-450-002 removes an environmentally unacceptable solvent from the wet coating.

The dry film remains identical to the previous version. Rockhard is used in many industries, For example Volvo air intakes, coating turbine blades, computer chassis for insulation purposes, heat exchangers and radiators where it has enabled Aluminium to replace Copper in some applications.

ROCKHARD STOVING ENAMEL IS A LEADING PRODUCT..
It is acknowledged as a leading product for curing micro-porosity used on engine blocks and turbo pipes etc. Its history includes protection of the Magnesium skins of the Westland Wessex Helicopter and parts of the Comet Jet liner. Since then it has been widely used in the aircraft industry where maximum protection is needed on Aluminium, Steel, Titanium andMagnesium, and in marine and other harsh environments.

Approvals include: Sikorsky for use on their AH 60 helicopter, McDonnell Douglas on their MD 500 range, and Pratt and Whitney Canada on their PT6, PT100, and 4000 range. In February 1995, GE approved this material for use on the F110 gearbox housing. The most recent approval has been by Parker Hannifin (Nicholls Aircraft Division) on the G 4461 model."

Rockhard Zinc Chromate Primer has had 40+ years of service in the Aerospace Industry. Although the trend generally is away from Chromates, this industry has found nothing to beat the anti-corrosive properties of this primer and associate topcoat system. 700-155-003 is suitable for use on Magnesium alloys, Steel, Aluminium and other metals. "Rockhard clear stoving enamel is one of the best protective coatings for metals, particularly Aluminium and Magnesium and as such is recommended by Magnesium Elektron, the leading suppliers of Magnesium in the UK.

Used where maximum protection is needed on Aluminium, Steel, Titanium and Magnesium. Provides a Clear coat for protection against marine and other harsh environments including applications where a high level of chemical resistance to industrial solvents, oils and hydraulic fluids is necessary.

Specifically formulated to give optimum product performance this product is crystal clear, low odour and high flash making it ideal for dip tanks as well as spraying.

This product has also been found to be resistant not only to re-chromating, but also to HAE heavy anodising. This is useful for post machining on magnesium for maximum protection.

Approved in February 1995 by Lucas Western for use on the BRR 710 gearbox, this product caused interest due to resistance to heavy re-anodising, which means that whole castings can be coated with Rockhard machined and recoated with Rockhard.

In addition, it is also found that a variant can be processed to temperatures as low as 125⁰C (225⁰F) which means that it can be recoated after steel inserts have been inserted into magnesium castings."

Rockhard stoving finishes formulated for use over 700-155-003 Rockhard chromate primer. Can also be used over IP985-6500 chromate free primer when specified. The green and white have been formulated specially for Rolls Royce Canada and are for use in such areas as engine support frame products and airframe components for companies like Grumman. Black gloss is for use also by RR Canada the Nene engine, although not released to MSRR 9226 all colours are tested to meet the MSRR 9226 standard. Grey BS381C, 693 is specifically formulated for a low odour high flash coating with optimum performance to MSRR 9226. Rolls Royce alternative to 580-0097-6.
